Game description:

Crash ‘n the Boys – Street Challenge is a unique sports and beat ’em up hybrid released for the NES in 1992 by Technōs Japan. Part of the beloved Kunio-kun series, this gang-themed tournament ditches traditional rules, encouraging players to fight their opponents, throw weapons, and use dirty tactics to win a series of unorthodox athletic events.

How to Play

Your objective is to lead your team to victory across five grueling street events: the 400-meter hurdles, a golf-like hammer throw, swimming brawls, roof jumping, and judo. Using the default NES emulator controls, navigate your character with the arrow keys and use Z and X (mapped to A and B) to jump, attack, or pick up objects. Enter serves as Start and Shift as Select.

Tips

  • Before events, visit the shop to spend your earned medals on stat upgrades and items, which are crucial for staying competitive against tougher teams.
  • In the 400-meter hurdles, don’t just jump over obstacles; you can slide tackle your opponent or pick up hurdles to hurl at them.
  • During the Judo event, focus on draining your opponent’s stamina with quick strikes before attempting a grapple, as throwing an energized opponent will likely get you countered.
