Game description:

Cosmo Gang – The Puzzle is a falling block-matching arcade game developed by Namco, brought to the Super Famicom in 1993 as a Japanese exclusive. Featuring characters from the arcade shooter Cosmo Gang, the game tasks players with clearing lines of blocks while eliminating alien “Jammers” that fall onto the board. If the core mechanics feel familiar, that is because Namco later completely reskinned this title to create the Western classic Pac-Attack, replacing the aliens with ghosts and the blue clearing star with Pac-Man.

How to Play

Your goal is to keep the playfield from filling up by completing solid horizontal lines of standard blocks, while strategically destroying the alien Jammers. Jammers cannot be cleared like normal blocks; instead, you must drop a blue ball onto them. The ball will roll downward, destroying any connected aliens in its path until it is blocked by a wall or falls into a gap. In the browser, steer falling pieces left and right with the Arrow Keys, rotate them using Z and X, and fast-drop with the Down Arrow. Use Enter to start the game.

Tips for Success

  • Group your Jammers: Try to cluster the alien blocks together rather than spreading them across the board. A single well-placed blue ball can eliminate a massive connected chain of them.
  • Create rolling slopes: Because the blue ball rolls downhill, you can construct staggered, descending steps out of blocks underneath your aliens, allowing one ball to roll across the screen and clear multiple columns in a single sequence.
