Released by SEGA Corporation in 1983 for the Sega SG-1000, Congo Bongo brings the company’s vibrant isometric arcade platformer to the home console. You play as a safari explorer determined to reach Bongo, an irritating ape, by navigating treacherous 3D-styled terrain, dodging wildlife, and executing precise jumps.
How to play
Your goal is to reach Bongo at the end of each stage. You must avoid hazards like rolling coconuts, charging rhinos, and unpredictable monkeys, as you have no attacks and can only rely on evasion. The controls are simple: move with the arrow keys and jump using the Z or X key. Press Enter to start.
Tips
The isometric perspective makes judging jumps tricky at first. Watch the shadows of your character and the enemies to accurately gauge positions on the grid. Take your time observing enemy movement patterns before making a difficult crossing.
