Columns is a classic falling-puzzle game released for the Sega Master System in 1990. In this engaging alternative to Tetris, players must arrange groups of jewels that drop from the top of the screen to form lines of three or more matching colors either horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.
How to Play
The objective is to clear jewels and rack up points without letting the gems stack to the very top. Use the D-pad (arrow keys) to move the falling jewels left and right. Press Button 1 or Button 2 (Z or X keys) to cycle the colors of the jewels within the column before they land.
Tips for Success
Focus on setting up chain reactions. When a match clears, any jewels resting above will drop down—if those form a new match, you score significantly more points. Try to keep the central columns lower, as an overflowing center will instantly end your game.
