Clu Clu Land is a fast-paced arcade maze game developed by Nintendo and released for the NES in 1985. You control Bubbles, a round, fish-like creature who constantly swims forward. Instead of turning normally, you must grab onto poles scattered throughout the grid to swing around and change direction, all while trying to uncover hidden golden ingots that form a complete picture.
How to Play
Bubbles moves forward automatically. To turn, press the D-pad towards a nearby pole to grab it, then swing around to face your new direction before letting go. Your objective is to pass between the poles to reveal all the gold ingots hidden in each stage before time runs out. Avoid the spiky Unira enemies and black holes.
For this browser emulator, the NES D-pad is mapped to your arrow keys, the A and B buttons are Z and X, and Start and Select are mapped to Enter and Shift.
Tips
- You can hold onto a pole indefinitely to keep spinning, which is a great way to wait for enemies to pass by or time your release.
- Press the action button to shoot a sound wave. If it hits an Unira, they will be stunned, allowing you to push them into a wall to eliminate them for extra points.
