City Connection is a 1985 arcade-style driving platformer developed by Jaleco and released for the NES. You drive a compact car across various world cities, aiming to paint every section of the multi-tiered highways white. The game plays like a fast-paced cross between a maze chaser and a platformer, requiring you to constantly shift between levels of the road while dodging oncoming traffic and obstacles.
How to Play
Your objective is to drive over every segment of the road to color it in and complete the stage. The car moves constantly, so you must rely on quick reflexes. Use the D-pad (Arrow keys) to change direction. Press A (Z) to jump, and hold Up while jumping to reach a higher tier of the highway. Press B (X) to fire oil cans.
Tips
- Oil cans are your best defense against police cars. Hit one with a can to spin it out, then ram it off the screen to safely remove it and score bonus points.
- Watch out for cats sitting in the road. Hitting one will cost you a life, and they cannot be spun out with oil cans, so you must jump over them.
- Keep an eye out for balloons; collecting three of them will warp you ahead to a random stage further in the game.
