Released for the Nintendo 64 in 1998 by SETA Corporation, Chopper Attack is an arcade-style 3D helicopter action shooter. Emphasising fast-paced aerial combat over realistic flight simulation, you pilot a heavily armed gunship through hostile territories to destroy enemy installations, battle giant bosses, and rescue stranded prisoners of war.
How to play
The core objective across all missions is to obliterate the designated enemy targets while keeping your helicopter intact and extracting any VIPs or hostages. Use the N64 Control Stick (mapped to the arrow keys) to fly your chopper. The A button (X) handles your primary machine guns, while the B button (Z) fires your limited supply of missiles and heavy ordnance. The C buttons are used for adjusting your altitude and managing the camera view during combat.
Tips
- Before starting a mission, pay close attention to your choice of helicopter. Some have heavier armour while others offer much greater speed and agility, which drastically changes how you approach anti-air installations.
- Always keep an eye out for supply drops to replenish your missiles and repair damage. Relying solely on your primary machine guns during boss encounters will leave you highly vulnerable.
