Chip ‘n Dale 2 – Boss-Only Hack is a custom ROM hack for the NES that strips away the platforming stages of Capcom’s Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers 2 and drops you directly into the boss encounters. Instead of navigating levels, you face a continuous gauntlet against Fat Cat’s mechanical contraptions and henchmen in a pure boss rush mode.
How to Play
The controls mirror the original NES release. Use the Arrow Keys to move and duck, press X to jump, and press Z to pick up crates, debris, or stunned enemies to throw at bosses. Press Enter to pause the game.
Tips
- Play Defensively: Since you skip the regular stages, you miss the usual opportunities to collect items and recover health. Prioritize dodging and learning boss patterns over rushing for damage.
- Catch and Return: Many bosses force you to use their own attacks against them. Time your grabs (Z) perfectly as they throw projectiles or drop debris so you can immediately hurl them back.
