Cabal is TAD Corporation’s 1988 arcade gallery shooter, played from a fixed, behind-the-back perspective as you gun down waves of enemy soldiers, tanks, and gun emplacements across a string of hostile military bases. This is the World revision configured for joystick controls, an alternative to the game’s original trackball cabinet. Its environments are famously destructible â buildings, walls, and sandbags can be blasted into rubble, stripping the enemy of cover along with you.
How to Play
Defeat enough enemies to fill the progress bar and advance to the next stage.
- Arrow keys: Move your character and crosshair together.
- Z: Fire your weapon. Hold it to lock your commando in place so you can sweep the crosshair freely across the screen.
- X: Throw a grenade at the crosshair’s location.
- Shift / Enter: Insert coin / start.
Tips
- Keep moving when under fire; only lock your position to shoot when you have safe cover ahead.
- Watch for medics, pigs, and other small targets scurrying through the background â shooting them drops weapon upgrades and bonus points.
- Don’t hoard grenades. Use them on heavily armored targets like tanks and helicopters before they flood the screen with bullets.
