BurgerTime is a 1982 DOS puzzle-platformer developed by Data East. You take on the role of Chef Peter Pepper, navigating a maze of ladders and platforms to assemble giant hamburgers while being pursued by living food.
How to play
Your goal is to walk across all the hamburger ingredients to drop them down to the plates at the bottom of the screen. You must avoid the enemy foods, which you can defeat by dropping an ingredient on them or trapping them on a falling layer. The game is controlled using the keyboard arrow keys to climb ladders and move across platforms, and the action key to throw a temporary stun cloud of black pepper.
Tips
- Lure enemies onto a hamburger ingredient before dropping it to trap them and earn bonus points.
- Black pepper is a highly limited resource. Save your shots for emergencies when you are cornered.
- Dropping a bun or patty from the top level will push down any ingredients directly below it, which can quickly complete a burger.
