Bubble Bobble II (Ver 0.0J 1993-12-13 Prototype) is an early arcade build of Taito’s classic platformer sequel, which would eventually be released as Bubble Symphony in 1994. Players once again control bubble-blowing dragons, trapping enemies in bubbles and popping them to clear single-screen stages. This prototype offers a rare glimpse into the game’s development, featuring early level designs, mechanics, and work-in-progress assets that differ from the final arcade release.
How to Play
As an arcade title, press Shift to insert a coin and Enter to start. Use the Arrow Keys to move your character, Z to blow bubbles, and X to jump. Trap enemies in bubbles, then pop them by jumping on them or running into them before they escape.
Tips
- Chain together multiple popped bubbles at once to score massive points and spawn better fruit rewards.
- Pay attention to the letter bubbles (E-X-T-E-N-D); collecting them all grants an extra life and skips the current level.
