Game description:

Bomberman 64: The Second Attack! is an action-adventure game released for the Nintendo 64 in 2000. Developed by Hudson Soft, it is a grander, more story-driven sequel to the original Bomberman 64. The game returns to the series’ classic cross-shaped explosions while sending Bomberman on a galaxy-spanning mission to collect the mysterious Elemental Stones and stop the evil Rukifellth. With a robust single-player campaign, unique elemental bomb mechanics, and an RPG-lite companion system, it stands out as one of the most ambitious titles in the franchise.

How to play

Your objective is to navigate various planets, defeating enemies and solving puzzles to progress. Use the Analog Stick or D-pad to move Bomberman, press the A button to place bombs, and use the B button to pick up, throw, or kick them. You can adjust the camera using the C-buttons. Along the way, you are joined by a sidekick named Pommy, who can be controlled by a second player or left to the AI to help you fight enemies.

Tips

  • Master elemental bombs: Use different bomb types to interact with the environment. Ice Bombs can freeze water to create safe crossings, while Wind Bombs can lift you to higher platforms.
  • Feed Pommy strategically: Pommy evolves based on the types of food you feed him. Focusing heavily on specific foods like meat or fruit will transform him into powerful, specialized forms that make boss fights much easier.
