Bionic Battler is a first-person, grid-based maze combat game released for the Game Boy in 1992 by Electro Brain. Originally launched in Japan as Vs. Battler, the game sets you against opposing teams of mechs in an ambitious attempt at 3D dungeon-crawler-style movement on the handheld’s 8-bit hardware.
How to Play
Navigate through the first-person mazes and hunt down every member of the enemy team to win the match. The Game Boy controls are mapped to your keyboard: use the arrow keys to move space-by-space and turn in the four cardinal directions. Press Z (A button) to punch at point-blank range, and X (B button) to fire a charged missile down a straight line. Press Enter for Start and Shift for Select.
Tips
- Your missile takes a few seconds to charge before firing, so line up your shots carefully from a distance.
- Since movement is grid-based, try to bait enemies into long hallways where you have a clear line of sight and they have no room to dodge.
