Big Challenge! Go! Go! Bowling is a classic sports game released in 1989 by Jaleco for the Famicom Disk System (playable here via NES emulation). Part of the “Big Challenge!” series in Japan, this retro bowling title delivers traditional ten-pin action where you position your bowler, aim, and time your power meter to knock down the pins.
How to Play
The objective is to score as high as possible across ten frames by securing strikes and spares. Use the Arrow Keys to move your bowler on the approach and adjust your aim. Press X (the A button) to start the power and hook meter, and press it again to lock in your throw and release the ball. Enter serves as the Start button.
Tips
- Aim for the Pocket: Throwing straight at the head pin often results in a split. Position yourself slightly off-center and apply a subtle hook into the space between the 1 and 3 pins (or 1 and 2 pins) to maximize your chances of a strike.
- Master the Meter: The power and spin meter moves rapidly. It is often better to accept a medium-power throw with good accuracy than to risk missing your mark while trying to maximize speed.
