Developed by Vic Tokai and originally released in 1993, Battle Mania Daiginjou is a cult-classic side-scrolling shoot ’em up for the Sega Genesis. Thanks to this complete English translation patch by MIJET, you can finally enjoy the witty banter of mercenary duo Mania and Maria as they blast through eccentric enemies and beautifully animated stages in this action-packed sequel to Trouble Shooter.
How to Play
You control the flight path and main weapons of Mania, who always fires forward, while your partner Maria provides crucial backup fire. A key strategic element is constantly flipping Maria’s firing direction to cover your back from ambushes. For the browser emulator, use the Arrow keys to move, Z, X, and C (mapped to the Genesis A, B, and C buttons) to shoot, switch Maria’s direction, and unleash special screen-clearing bombs, and Enter to start.
Tips
- Master quickly toggling Maria’s firing direction; later stages and boss fights heavily rely on ambushing you from the left side of the screen.
- Don’t hoard your special weapons. Use them defensively when you are trapped by overwhelming bullet patterns.
- Pay attention to the weapon power-ups dropped by enemies, as upgrading your main shot and Maria’s sub-weapon is essential for surviving the tougher levels.
