Battle Flip Shot is a fast-paced, competitive arcade game released by Visco in 1998. It takes the classic back-and-forth volleying of Pong and supercharges it for the Neo Geo, pitting players against each other in a futuristic arena. You control a combatant armed with a shield, and your goal is to smash the ball past your opponent to destroy the six targets positioned behind them.
How to Play
The objective is to eliminate all of your opponent’s targets before they destroy yours. You can move freely around your half of the court. Use the A button to swing your shield and deflect the ball. The B button performs a quick slide to help you cover ground rapidly. By combining your swing with different directional inputs, each of the five playable characters can unleash their own unique Power Shot to trick the opponent.
Tips
- Use the slide defensively: The slide (B button) is crucial for reaching fast cross-court shots that normal movement won’t catch.
- Time your Power Shots: Wait until your opponent is out of position before using your character’s special move, making it much harder for them to react to the sudden change in speed or direction.
