Game description:

Back to the Future Part III is a 1991 action game for the Sega Genesis that follows Doc and Marty’s final adventure in the Wild West. Rather than a traditional platformer, the game is split into four distinct arcade-style stages. You will ride horseback to rescue Clara from a ravine, test your aim in a shooting gallery, throw pie tins at Mad Dog Tannen’s gang in an isometric shootout, and carefully navigate the moving train to get the DeLorean up to 88 miles per hour.

How to Play

Your objective varies by stage, from surviving a high-speed obstacle course to collecting Presto Logs on a moving train. For the default web emulator controls, use the Arrow keys for the D-pad to move, Enter for Start, and A/S/D or Z/X/C for your action buttons to shoot, jump, and throw items depending on the current level.

Tips

  • Memorize the horseback chase: The first stage throws obstacles at you rapidly. Focus on learning the sequence of birds, boulders, and bullets, as reaction time alone often isn’t enough.
  • Adjust your aim: The shooting gallery in the second stage uses inverted Y-axis controls, so take a moment to adjust your muscle memory before focusing purely on accuracy.
  • Don’t miss the logs: During the final train stage, make sure to collect the Presto Logs in order. If you miss one, you’ll be forced to backtrack through dangerous obstacles to retrieve it.
