Game description:

Azurian Attack is a classic arcade shoot ’em up developed by Rait Electronics Ltd. and released in 1982. Built on modified Galaxian hardware, this New Zealand-made space shooter stands out from its contemporaries by granting players full eight-way directional movement instead of restricting them to the bottom of the screen. The gameplay alternates between two challenging phases as you fight off alien forces and navigate hazardous asteroid fields.

How to Play
The game loops through two distinct stages. In the first, you must survive and eliminate dynamic waves of fast-moving enemy ships. In the second stage, the screen fills with asteroids; your goal is to blast a path through them to reach and destroy the mothership waiting at the top. Use the Arrow Keys to move your fighter in any of eight directions, and press Z or X to fire your weapon.

Tips

  • Take advantage of your eight-way movement to dodge incoming fire and reposition yourself, rather than staying pinned to the bottom of the screen.
  • During the asteroid phase, focus on carving a direct vertical path to the mothership rather than trying to destroy every obstacle.
