Released by Taito in 1989, Aqua Jack is an intense pseudo-3D rail shooter that puts you at the helm of a heavily armed military hovercraft. Similar to classics like Space Harrier, you zoom forward into the screen across water and land, engaging in fast-paced combat against waves of enemy jets, helicopters, and heavily armored naval vessels.

How to Play

Your mission is to survive through eight hostile stages while destroying enemy forces and managing your limited supply of rockets. Use the arrow keys to pilot your hovercraft around incoming fire. The primary action buttons (typically Z, X, and C) allow you to fire your main cannon, launch high-damage rockets, and jump over obstacles. Insert a virtual coin using Shift, and press Enter to start.

Tips

• Timing your jumps is critical, not just for clearing environmental hazards like logs, but for dodging low-flying enemy projectiles that are difficult to avoid by strafing alone.
• Conserve your rockets for larger targets and end-of-stage bosses, as your standard cannon is sufficient for taking out smaller jets and boats.
• Keep your hovercraft in constant motion; staying in one place makes you an easy target for enemy crossfire.
