Game description:

Android is a vertical-scrolling shoot-’em-up developed by Nasco in 1987, but it never made it past the prototype stage. No cabinets were ever sold; what survives today is arcade board hardware from Nasco’s development process, with the last known build dated June 1987. Because it was never released, Android is a rare glimpse at an unfinished arcade shooter rather than a game that had a commercial run and audience at the time.

How to Play

Android is a vertical shoot-’em-up: pilot your ship up the scrolling screen, destroy enemy waves, and avoid enemy fire. It supports up to two players, alternating turns on shared credits, using an 8-way joystick and three action buttons on the original cabinet. In the browser, movement maps to the arrow keys, the three buttons map to Z, X, and C, Shift inserts a coin, and Enter starts the game.

As an unfinished prototype, no gameplay details beyond this were finalized or documented, so treat it as a curiosity for shoot-’em-up fans and arcade preservationists rather than a fully realized commercial title.
