How to Play

Your objective is to explore the overworld and dungeons, gather equipment, level up, and locate the Books of Ys. Combat is handled entirely through movement—to attack enemies, you must physically bump into them.

Tips

• Master the bump combat: Never run into an enemy head-on, or you will take heavy damage. Instead, hit them off-center (clipping their side or back) to deal damage safely.
• Heal by standing still: When you are outside of dungeons in the overworld or in towns, you can slowly regenerate your health points simply by standing in place and doing nothing.
• Save often: You can save your progress almost anywhere. Take advantage of this system, especially before entering new areas or taking on tough encounters.
