Distributed in 1982 for Italian arcades by Olympia, this version of Konami’s 1981 maze-action classic brings challenging line-painting gameplay to the cabinet. You navigate a rigid grid, alternating between controlling a gorilla collecting coconuts and a paint roller coloring in boxes, all while avoiding relentless patrolling enemies.
How to Play
Your goal is to claim every rectangular section of the stage’s grid without touching an enemy. Moving around the full perimeter of a rectangle fills it in. Use the arrow keys to navigate the maze. You also have a dedicated action button (typically Z, X, or Space in the browser)—but rather than making your character jump, pressing it causes all enemies on screen to briefly leap into the air, allowing you to pass safely underneath them.
Tips
- Save your jumps: You only have a limited number of enemy jumps per stage. Keep them in reserve for when you are hopelessly cornered.
- Trap the enemies: If you manage to fill in the four corner boxes of the stage, the enemies will temporarily turn into bonus targets that you can safely touch for extra points.
