The Adventures of Gilligan’s Island is a 1990 action-adventure game released by Bandai for the NES. Based on the classic television sitcom, you take control of the Skipper as he navigates four episodes across the uncharted island. The game is best known for its companion mechanic, where an AI-controlled Gilligan follows you closely. You must protect him from hazards, hostile wildlife, and pitfalls while searching for the rest of the stranded castaways.
Your main objective is to guide both the Skipper and Gilligan to the end of each stage before the timer runs out. You must manage the group’s food and water rations and ensure Gilligan does not get left behind. In the browser emulator, use the Arrow keys to move, Z and X to punch or use items, Enter to pause (Start), and Shift to view your status screen (Select).
Because Gilligan’s pathfinding can be erratic, it is best to move carefully and keep him visible on the screen. If he gets caught behind a tree or rock, backtrack a few steps to help him reset his path. Pay close attention to your time limit and rations, as running out of either will cost you a life.
