Developed by Sega in 1988, Rescue Mission is a classic light-gun shooter for the Master System. You take on the role of a sharpshooter providing vital cover fire for a medical team operating behind enemy lines. As the medics travel along a railway track to save wounded soldiers, you must use your weapon to eliminate enemy troops, rockets, and landmines before they can harm the rescue crew.
How to Play
In this browser emulator, use your mouse to aim the crosshair and left-click to fire your Light Phaser. Your primary objective is to protect the handcart; if the medics are hit three times, the mission fails. The cart will stop whenever it reaches a wounded soldier to perform first aid, making the team especially vulnerable to enemy swarms during these moments.
Tips
- Prioritize Projectiles: Focus on shooting rockets and grenades first, as they move quickly and deal immediate damage to your cart.
- Clear the Tracks: Don’t forget to shoot the landmines scattered on the railway ahead of the cart to prevent unnecessary damage.
- Watch for Power-ups: Successfully rescued soldiers will drop special packages. Shoot these to gain temporary invincibility, replenish the cart’s health, or clear the screen of enemies.
