Saiyuuki World 2: Tenjoukai no Majin is a 1990 action-platformer developed by Jaleco for the Famicom. You control Sun Wukong, the Monkey King, on a quest to recover seven stolen celestial beads. Armed with an extending staff, you battle through mythological stages, defeating bosses to acquire new magical attacks. The game was later localized and graphically altered for North America, where it was released under the title Whomp ‘Em.
How to Play
Guide Sun Wukong to the end of each stage and defeat the boss to claim a new bead and magic power. After the introductory stage, you can tackle the remaining levels in any order.
- Movement: Arrow keys
- Jump: X
- Attack: Z (Thrust your staff forward. Hold Up to thrust upward.)
- Downward Thrust: Jump, then hold Down to attack with your staff from above.
- Start/Pause: Enter (Pause the game to select different magic abilities once acquired)
- Select: Shift (View your collected gourds)
Tips
- Master the downward thrust. Bouncing on enemies from above is often safer than approaching them head-on.
- Collect gourds dropped by defeated enemies; gathering enough of them will reward you with an extra heart container to increase your maximum health.
- Since you can choose the stage order, experiment if you get stuck. A magic power earned from one boss might be the weakness of another.
