Jajamaru no Daibouken is a side-scrolling action platformer released by Jaleco for the NES in 1986. Serving as the sequel to Ninja Jajamaru-kun, this installment evolves the series from single-screen action into a continuous side-scrolling adventure. Players guide the nimble ninja Jajamaru on a quest to rescue Princess Sakura from the villainous Namazu Dayuu, battling a variety of Japanese mythological yokai along the way.
How to Play
Your objective is to navigate through each stage, defeat enemies with your throwing weapons, and safely reach the exit. The game uses standard NES controls mapped to your keyboard: use the Arrow Keys to move, Z and X to jump and throw shuriken (acting as the A and B buttons), Enter for Start, and Shift for Select.
Tips
- Manage your projectiles: You can only have a limited number of shuriken on screen at once, so time your attacks rather than mashing the button.
- Commit to your jumps: Jajamaru has a fixed jumping arc that is hard to adjust in mid-air. Always make sure your landing spot is clear of enemies before leaping.
