🎮 Play Story of Thor, The (Germany) Online (Sega Genesis)

The Story of Thor (Germany) is the European release of Ancient’s 1994 Sega Genesis action-RPG, known in North America as Beyond Oasis. Directed and scored by Yuzo Koshiro, it puts you in control of Prince Ali, who discovers the mystical Gold Armlet and sets out to free his kingdom of Oasis by calling on the power of four elemental spirits bound within it.

How to Play

Move Ali with the arrow keys, and use the action buttons (Z / X / C in the browser) to attack, jump, and unleash whichever spirit is currently held in the armlet. Spirits aren’t picked from a menu — you summon them by striking the right kind of surface: standing water calls Dytto, a lit torch calls Efreet, your own shadow on bright ground calls Shade, and a leafy plant calls Bow. Press Enter to start or pause.

Tips

• Dytto can heal you and stun nearby enemies with a burst of water — summon her near a pool when you’re low on health instead of pushing on hurt.
• Shade copies your position and soaks up hits meant for you, and can also pull you back out of a pit — useful insurance before a risky jump.
• Efreet’s fire melts ice blocks and burns obstacles nothing else can touch, so if a path looks blocked, look for a nearby flame to summon him from.
