Game description:

Sonic the Hedgehog ZX is a popular ROM hack of the original Sega Genesis classic, developed by CarrascoZX0 and Team ZX. This mod revamps the 1991 platformer by blending classic level design with modern gameplay mechanics. The familiar Green Hill Zone has been completely redesigned, featuring shifting times of day where Act 2 transitions to sunset and Act 3 plunges into a challenging night time stage.

Players navigate the redesigned levels using expanded movesets that weren’t present in the original game. You can now use the Spindash and the Super Peel Out to build up momentum and blast through loops and enemies. While there is no full Super Sonic transformation, smashing a “Super Sonic” monitor will grant you a temporary burst of invincibility and blazing speed. The controls use the standard Sega Genesis layout: use the D-pad to move, and A, B, or C to jump and spin.

Tips: The night time setting of Green Hill Zone Act 3 is notably more difficult than the preceding acts, so take your time navigating the newly placed hazards. Keep an eye out for the unique Super Sonic monitors hidden in the levels when you need to safely rush past tough enemy placements.
