Tactician is a 1982 arcade shooter from Konami, released under license from Sega. It puts a twist on the Space Invaders formula: rather than facing one enemy formation marching in lockstep, your ship faces a swarm of aliens that break off and scatter freely across the screen, diving, shooting, and dropping bombs on their own.
How to Play
Your ship isn’t locked to a single row along the bottom — it can move around the lower part of the screen, so surviving takes more than side-to-side timing against the scattered, unpredictable enemy fire. Move with the joystick and use the buttons to fire back as the aliens swarm overhead.
