Sky Kid is a classic side-scrolling shooter released for arcades in 1985 by Namco. Standing out from most shooters of the era, the screen scrolls from right to left as you pilot a biplane to shoot down enemy aircraft, evade anti-aircraft fire, and complete your mission.
How to Play
Your main objective is to survive until the end of the stage, retrieve a bomb, and drop it accurately onto the enemy base. You can perform a loop-the-loop to dodge incoming fire. The default arcade controls are typically mapped to your Arrow keys for steering, Z to fire your machine gun, and X to perform an evasive loop or drop your bomb.
Tips
- If you take a hit and begin to fall, rapidly press the loop button to recover and pull your plane out of its tailspin before you crash.
- To successfully destroy the enemy base, you need to fly low and time your bomb drop precisely as you pass over it.
