Cadash is a pioneering side-scrolling action-RPG released for the arcades by Taito in 1989. Blending traditional platforming with role-playing elements, players choose from four distinct classesโFighter, Mage, Priest, or Ninjaโeach offering unique attacks, magic, and progression paths. As you venture through interconnected fantasy environments to rescue Princess Salassa from the evil Balrog, you must earn experience points to level up, collect gold, and purchase better equipment from village shops. This entry is the German localization of the arcade release.
How to Play
The objective is to fight your way through five expansive stages, upgrading your character’s stats and gear to survive increasingly difficult encounters. Move using the D-pad (mapped to arrow keys), and use your attack and jump buttons (typically Z and X). Push up to enter doors, talk to villagers, and access shops. Remember to insert credits and press Start (Shift and Enter) to begin your adventure.
Tips
- Grind early: Spend extra time defeating enemies in the first cave to build up gold and experience. Buying the best available armor early on will significantly reduce the damage you take.
- Mind the clock: While grinding is important, keep an eye on the stage timer. Lingering too long in one area will cost you a life.
- Choose your class wisely: The Fighter is straightforward and deals heavy melee damage, making him great for solo play, while the Priest’s healing spells are invaluable if you can manage her weaker offensive output.
