Game description:

Zoop, released for the SNES in 1995, is an intense, real-time puzzle game that breaks away from the traditional falling-block formula. Instead of stacking pieces, you control a central piece defending itself against colored shapes advancing from all four sides of the screen. Fast reflexes and strategic color-swapping are required to keep the grid clear as the speed ramps up.

How to Play

The objective is to eliminate advancing shapes before they cross into your central safe zone. You control the piece in the middle and can aim in four directions. If you shoot a shape of the same color, it is destroyed. If you shoot a shape of a different color, you swap colors with it, allowing you to prepare for the next line. Use the arrow keys (D-pad) to aim, and the Z or X keys (A/B buttons) to shoot or swap colors.

Tips

  • Clear clusters: If several shapes of the same color are lined up in a row, shooting the front one will destroy the entire line.
  • Watch the grid: The background grid pulses to warn you where pieces will spawn next, helping you anticipate where to move and what color you will need.
