Game description:

Zero the Kamikaze Squirrel is a fast-paced 1994 side-scrolling platform game developed by Iguana Entertainment and published by Sunsoft for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. Spun off from the Aero the Acro-Bat series, the game follows the titular ninja squirrel as he rushes to protect his homeland forest from evil industrialist Jacques Le Roan and rescue his kidnapped girlfriend, Amy.

How to Play

Guide Zero through dangerous wilderness stages, factory zones, and cliffside caverns filled with hazardous traps and enemy forces. Use Zero’s agile martial arts maneuvers, aerial acrobatics, and projectile weapons to clear each stage and defeat stage bosses before confronting Jacques Le Roan.

Controls

  • Move / Aim / Crouch: Arrow Keys
  • Jump / Double Jump: Z Key (SNES B button)
  • Attack / Throw Shuriken: X Key (SNES A button)
  • Swoop / Dive-Bomb: C Key (SNES Y button)
  • Pause: Enter (Start button)
  • Select: Shift Key (Select button)

Gameplay Tips

  • Master the Swoop Attack: Execute Zero’s signature dive-bomb move while in mid-air to strike enemies from above and gain extra momentum over wide gaps.
  • Conserve Ninja Ammunition: Save high-damage shurikens for flying enemies and boss battles, relying on melee combat for standard ground hazards.
  • Search Hidden Ledges: Explore secret alcoves along cliff walls and canopy perches to find hidden health items, extra lives, and bonus power-ups.
