Zelda ALttP – BS-X Mascot Edition – Girl is a 2017 cosmetic ROM hack for the Super Nintendo created by Josephine Lithius. Instead of playing as Link, this patch replaces the protagonist with the female avatar from the Japan-exclusive Satellaview title, BS The Legend of Zelda: Ancient Stone Tablets. The core gameplay and story of A Link to the Past remain entirely untouched, aside from some minor pronoun adjustments to fit the new heroine.
How to Play
Since the gameplay is identical to the original SNES classic, you will need to master standard sword combat and item usage to rescue Princess Zelda. By default in the browser, use the Arrow keys to move, Z and X for your sword and items (A and B on SNES), and Enter to pause or access your inventory (Start). You can configure these inputs via the emulator menu.
Tips
- Item Swapping: Because you only have one main action button for items, remember to pause frequently to switch between your bow, boomerang, and magic items depending on the situation.
- Pegasus Boots: Once you acquire them, holding down your sword button and releasing it lets you dash forwardโessential for breaking certain walls and crossing gaps.
