Zaxxon 3-D is a 1987 Sega Master System reimagining of the classic arcade shooter, played from a behind-the-ship perspective to take advantage of the console’s 3-D glasses. Unlike the original’s isometric view, this version places you directly behind your ship as you fly through deep-space fortresses, blasting enemy fighters and dodging electrified force fields.

How to Play

Pilot your ship through each stage using the arrow keys to maneuver around tight corridors and avoid incoming fire. Press Z to shoot enemy ships and gun turrets, and Enter to pause. You must destroy fuel tanks along the way to replenish your rapidly depleting fuel supply, all while navigating increasingly complex obstacle courses to reach the boss at the end of the base.

Tips

• Keep a close eye on your fuel gauge; if you miss too many fuel tanks, your ship will crash.
• When approaching force fields, pay attention to the gap and align your ship early, as lateral movement can feel sluggish when making last-second dodges.
