Yars’ Revenge is a classic multi-directional shooter originally released for the Atari 2600 and later ported to the Game Boy Color. You pilot a Yarโa mutated, fly-like creatureโon a mission to penetrate enemy defenses and destroy the evil Qotile.
How to Play
Your objective is to break through the Qotile’s shield barrier by shooting it or nibbling at it. Doing so charges the powerful Zorlon Cannon, which you must use to destroy the enemy. Use the D-pad (mapped to arrow keys) to fly freely around the screen. Press the A button (Z key) to shoot regular energy blasts, and press the B button (X key) to fire the Zorlon Cannon once it is fully charged.
Tips
- Hide inside the glowing Neutral Zone to protect yourself from enemy missiles, but remember that you cannot fire your own weapons while safely inside it.
- Nibbling the shield charges your cannon quickly, but places you in closer range to the Qotile’s deadly attacks.
