WWF WrestleMania: The Arcade Game for the Super Nintendo (1995) throws traditional wrestling simulation out the window in favor of fast-paced, Mortal Kombat-style 2D fighting action. Developed by Midway and Sculptured Software, this over-the-top brawler features digitised sprites of iconic WWF superstars executing impossible combos, magical attacks, and chaotic special moves.
How to Play
Choose your superstar and battle through the Intercontinental and WWF Championship circuits, taking on multiple opponents simultaneously. Controls on the SNES use the D-pad for movement, while the face buttons are mapped to fast and fierce punches and kicks, and the shoulder buttons block. In the browser, the default SNES mapping uses arrow keys for the D-pad, Z/X/A/S for the face buttons, and Enter/Shift for Start and Select.
Tips
- Master the combos: Unlike standard wrestling games, stringing together quick strikes and juggling opponents in the air is the key to winning.
- Utilize the ropes: Bounce opponents off the ropes to set up devastating aerial attacks or catch them on the rebound with a signature move.
