Game description:

Wrecking Crew is a classic action-puzzle game developed by Nintendo for the NES. Playing as Mario, your goal is to destroy every breakable wall, ladder, and pillar in the level with your trusty hammer while avoiding a variety of hazards. This specific release originates from the Japanese Famicom Disk Writer kiosk system.

How to Play

The objective is to clear all destructible objects on the screen before moving to the next level. Because Mario cannot jump in this title, you must carefully plan your route to avoid getting trapped. Use the directional pad (mapped to your Arrow keys) to move and climb ladders, and swing your hammer using the A or B buttons (Z or X keys on your keyboard). Press Start (Enter) to pause.

Tips

  • Take out the support pillars: Destroying a pillar causes the objects above it to drop down, which can save you time and even crush pursuing enemies.
  • Stun the enemies: You can temporarily stop Gotcha Wrenches and Eggplant Men from chasing you by hammering the wall on the opposite side of where they are standing.
  • Plan your descents: Since jumping is impossible, dropping down a level without a ladder back up means you might get permanently stuck and be forced to restart the stage.
