Worm War I is an action shooter released for the Atari 2600 in 1982 by Sirius Software. You pilot a ground vehicle at the base of the screen while successive waves of worm enemies advance from above. The screen fills fast — survival demands movement and reading formations, not firepower alone.
How to Play
Manoeuvre to thread the gaps as worms descend and shoot before they close in. Enemy formations repeat each cycle, rewarding players who learn the patterns over those who simply react. A second player can join on the same keyboard.

Tips
- Keep moving — the worms fill lateral space quickly and a stationary target is easily cornered.
- Once you recognise a wave pattern, position yourself ahead of it rather than reacting after it forms.
