Released for the NES in 1989 by Capcom, Willow takes the fantasy world of the Ron Howard film and adapts it into a top-down action RPG. Rather than following the arcade platformer of the same name, this version plays more like The Legend of Zelda, letting you guide the hero across a sprawling overworld while fighting enemies, gaining experience, and collecting magical spells and gear to defeat the evil queen Bavmorda.
How to play
Your goal is to journey across the land, defeating enemies to level up and acquiring new swords, shields, and magic spells to ultimately defeat Bavmorda. Enter (Start) pauses the game and opens your inventory where you can equip different weapons and spells.

Tips
- Your sword has a wide, sweeping arc. Use this to strike enemies diagonally without putting yourself directly in their line of fire.
- Talk to every NPC you encounter; they often give crucial items or magic spells that are required to progress past certain obstacles.
- Grinding a few levels early on makes a massive difference in your survivability, as enemies hit hard at level one.
