Game description:

Wetrix is an innovative 3D puzzle game developed by Zed Two and released for the Nintendo 64 in 1998. Instead of matching blocks, players must dynamically sculpt the landscape using Uppers and Downers to create enclosed lakes, catching falling water before it leaks off the edge of the board.

How to Play

The main objective is to keep water on the board as long as possible while scoring points by evaporating it. You lose if the leakage meter fills up. Controls (Nintendo 64): Analog Stick / D-pad to move, A/B to rotate or place pieces, and C-Buttons to adjust the camera. In the browser, these are typically mapped to your arrow keys, action keys (like X, C, Z, or S), and Enter for Start.

Tips

  • Use Fireballs Wisely: Dropping a fireball into a deep lake evaporates the water and awards massive points. Wait until you have a large body of water for maximum effect.
  • Manage the Weight: If you build the land too high, earthquakes will trigger and destroy your walls. Use bombs (Downers) to deliberately lower terrain around the edges to relieve pressure.
  • Freeze the Water: Ice blocks instantly freeze your lakes, preventing any leakage for a short time and giving you a moment to rebuild your defenses.
