Wayne’s World is a 1993 action platformer released for the NES, based on the iconic comedy film. Sucked into the “Zantar” video game, Wayne Campbell must rescue his best friend Garth from a mysterious purple blob. To survive, you will navigate confusing levels ranging from Kramer’s Music Store to the Gasworks, shooting sonic waves from Wayne’s guitar to defeat floating instruments, amps, and other bizarre enemies.
How to Play
Your objective is to reach the end of each stage to save Garth, who is constantly snatched away before you can reach him. Use the D-pad (Arrow keys) to move and duck. Press A (Z) to jump and B (X) to fire your guitar’s sonic chords. Pressing Start (Enter) pauses the game.
Tips
- Wayne’s attack has a slight delay and a strange arc; practice timing your shots before enemies get too close.
- The levels are incredibly non-linear and maze-like. If you feel lost, try heading to the edges of the screen to find hidden passages.
- Collect the donuts scattered around for extra health, as the hitboxes for enemies can be very unforgiving.
