Game description:

Wayne Gretzky’s 3D Hockey is a 1996 arcade-style sports game published by Midway for the Nintendo 64. It abandons realistic simulation for fast-paced, high-scoring action, featuring flaming pucks, exaggerated checks, and brick-wall goalies.

How to play

The objective is to outscore the opposing team in 3-on-3, 4-on-4, or 5-on-5 matches. On the Nintendo 64, the default controls use the A button to pass or switch players, B to shoot or body check, and C-Down to turbo. In your browser, these are typically mapped to X for passing/switching, C for shooting/checking, and the arrow keys for movement.

Tips

  • Use turbo frequently to break away from defenders or to deliver harder checks, but watch your player’s stamina.
  • One-timers are highly effective for scoring; pass the puck across the slot and shoot immediately before the goalie can react.
