Water Ski is a sports action game released for the Atari 7800 in 1988 by Froggo Games. In this top-down arcade-style title, players guide a water skier down the treacherous Pharonna River. The challenge lies in simultaneously managing the speed of the tow boat and the position of the skier to navigate a gauntlet of obstacles, including piers, logs, buoys, and even sharks, while hitting wooden ramps for bonus points.
How to Play
You must steer both the boat and the skier at the same time to survive the hazardous riverway. Use the arrow keys to control your movement and shift left or right to dodge hazards. Press the Z or X key to accelerate the boat. Your primary goal is to avoid crashing into the riverbanks or obstacles while lining the skier up with ramps to perform jumps and earn extra points.
Tips
- Pace your speed: Constantly holding down the acceleration button makes dodging obstacles much harder. Only speed up when you have a clear path ahead.
- Prioritise the boat: While hitting ramps with the skier grants points, crashing the boat into a pier or riverbank will immediately cost you a life. Focus on keeping the boat safe first.
