Warlock is a 1995 action-platformer for the Super Nintendo, based on the horror film series of the same name. You play as a modern-day druid on a quest across time and the world to gather six scattered runestones before the evil Warlock can claim them. The game blends side-scrolling exploration with magic-based combat, featuring dark, atmospheric levels and challenging boss encounters.
How to Play
Your objective is to navigate each stage, defeat demonic enemies using your magic spells, and retrieve the runestones. You are accompanied by a floating magic orb that can be commanded to retrieve items or attack enemies out of your normal reach. The standard SNES browser controls apply: use the Arrow keys for the D-pad to move, Z, X, A, and S for the SNES face buttons (to jump, cast spells, and control your orb), and Enter/Shift for Start/Select.
Tips
- Your floating orb companion is your most versatile toolโsend it out to strike enemies from a safe distance before moving forward.
- Take your time exploring; rushing through levels will often lead you into ambushes by hidden enemies and environmental traps.
- Look out for health and magic power-ups, as you will need plenty of spell charges to survive the challenging boss fights.
