Game description:

Virtual Chess 64 is a chess simulation game released for the Nintendo 64 in 1998 by Titus Interactive. It offers traditional chess gameplay adapted for a home console, featuring 3D boards and animated combat sequences that bring the classic board game to life when pieces are captured.

The objective is to checkmate your opponent’s king. In the browser, standard Nintendo 64 controls apply: use the Arrow keys (mapped to the D-pad) to navigate the board, and press Z or X (representing the A and B buttons) to select and move your pieces. Press Enter (Start) to pause or access the game’s menus.

Take advantage of the game’s tutorial features if you are new to chess, as it includes tools to help beginners learn piece movements and basic strategies. If the animated capture sequences become repetitive during longer matches, you can disable them in the options menu to speed up the gameplay.
