Game description:

Developed by Sting Entertainment and published by Square in 1996, Treasure Hunter G is a visually striking tactical RPG for the SNES. Notable for its use of pre-rendered 3D graphics, the game follows brothers Red and Blue as they explore the world to stop the Dark King from obtaining magical artifacts. Unlike traditional turn-based JRPGs of its era, combat takes place on a grid where moving, attacking, and using items all draw from a character's limited pool of Action Points (ACT).

How to Play

Your objective is to guide Red, Blue, and their companions through grid-based battles while managing your team's positioning. In the browser, use the Arrow keys to move and navigate menus. Use Z (A button) to confirm actions or attack, and X (B button) to cancel. You can rotate your character's facing direction using Q and W (L and R buttons). Press Enter for Start and Shift for Select.

Tips

  • Rotate for Free: Using the L and R buttons (Q and W) to rotate your character does not consume any Action Points. Always try to face the right direction, and attack enemies from the side or behind for increased damage.
  • Farm Experience: Characters gain EXP for every hit landed and technique used, rather than just for defeating enemies. You can even attack your own teammates or heal enemies to prolong a fight and maximize your experience gains.
  • Catch Frogs: Keep an eye out for frogs hiding in bushes across the overworld. Because enemies do not drop money, catching frogs is essentialโ€”they can be sold for high prices or used as currency for casino mini-games.
