Game description:

Tonic Trouble is a quirky 3D platformer developed by Ubi Soft and released for the Nintendo 64 in 1999. Players take control of Ed, a clumsy alien who accidentally drops a canister of mysterious tonic onto Earth, mutating everything it touches. To fix his mistake, Ed must explore various surreal worlds, defeat mutant enemies, and recover the tonic before the planet is permanently altered.

How to Play

Your objective is to navigate the 3D environments, solve puzzles, and collect items to progress through each level and eventually defeat the mutant leader, Grรถgh. In the browser emulator, the Nintendo 64’s analog stick is typically mapped to the arrow keys for movement. Use the X and C keys for the A and B buttons (jumping and attacking), and press Enter for Start. The N64’s C-buttons, used for camera control, are usually mapped to I, J, K, and L.

Tips

  • Take the time to master Ed’s unique power-ups, such as the pogo stick and the flying bowtie, as they are crucial for reaching hidden areas and progressing through the game.
  • Explore levels thoroughly to gather as many items as possible. Collecting antidotes and thermometers is necessary to unlock new areas and succeed in your mission.
