Game description:

Tokimeki Memorial: Densetsu no Ki no Shita de is the 1996 SNES port of Konami’s groundbreaking dating simulation. It defined the modern romance genre by introducing deep stat management, where your weekday activities directly impact your academic, athletic, and artistic attributes. As a high school student over three years, you must carefully balance studying, resting, and calling classmates to arrange weekend dates, all while managing your reputation and avoiding the dreaded jealousy “bombs” from neglected girls.

How to Play

Your primary objective is to build your stats and relationship values high enough to receive a confession of love under the legendary tree on graduation day. Navigating menus and scheduling your week uses standard SNES controls, mapped to the arrow keys (D-pad), X and Z (A and B buttons), and Enter / Shift (Start / Select) in your browser.

Tips

  • Watch your stress: Pushing your stats too hard without resting will cause you to get sick, which severely hurts your parameters and wastes valuable time.
  • Defuse bombs: If a girl feels ignored, a bomb icon will appear next to her name in your friend’s phone list. Call her for a date quickly to defuse it, or it will explode and drastically lower your affection with everyone.
  • Focus your build: The main heroine, Shiori, requires high, well-rounded stats across the board, but other girls focus on specific parameters. Pick a target early and tailor your weekly schedule to the stats she cares about most.
