Tiger Heli is a classic vertically scrolling shoot ’em up originally released for the Arcade in 1985. Serving as an early pioneer for the modern top-down shooting genre, you pilot an advanced attack helicopter through hostile territory, systematically taking out tanks, naval vessels, and entrenched ground defenses. This specific version is an arcade bootleg of the original release.
How to Play
Insert a coin with Shift and start the game with Enter. Use the Arrow Keys to maneuver your helicopter, press Z to fire your primary cannons, and press X to deploy a powerful bomb that clears nearby threats. As you play, shoot the flashing cross-shaped blocks to reveal items; collecting them attaches miniature support helicopters to your sides for extra firepower.
Tips
- Your mini support helicopters don’t just add firepower; they also act as a shield and will absorb an enemy bullet before being destroyed.
- If an enemy shot hits one of the bombs mounted on the side of your helicopter, it will detonate automatically. This can save your life, but it uses up the bomb in the process.
- The bomb blast radius is relatively small. Use them defensively when trapped rather than expecting to wipe out everything on the screen.
